I completed my Master’s degree in 2018 and soon after found my way into the world of employability and education through an internship with East Lothian Council. During that time, I gained a comprehensive understanding of Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) and eventually took on the role of DYW Coordinator, which I held for several years. After a short career break to travel, I returned to DYW in West Lothian, where I’ve now been working for a year. My main strengths lie in connecting employability and education, building positive relationships with organisations across industries, and supporting them to engage with the education system to help young people develop their skills.
Outside of work, I enjoy seeing musicals at the theatre, walking my dog Jolene, and cheering on the Glasgow Clans ice hockey team!
Having worked with The Action Group through my DYW role, I was already aware of what a fantastic organisation it is and knew I wanted to be a part of it. Joining the Board, I was in awe of the hard work, passion, and commitment shown by the team, and I’m very proud to now play my part. I look forward to using my experience and skills to make a meaningful difference.
