About the Role

The Action Group seeks a highly organised, skilled and empathic person to join it's dynamic carer advice team within its accredited Advice Services.

Supports offered to carers include one-to-one advice, group supports and events.

Salary

  • £25,623 – £ 27,168 per annum (pro rata)


Fixed Term until 31st Aug 2024

Requirements

This post-holder will have a focus on helping carers through the cost of living crisis.  They will take a lead in understanding the resources available to carers, helping carers maximise their income through grants and trusts and assist them with budgeting. They will also support the team to organize and facilitate monthly carers groups.


Successful applicants will:


  • Demonstrate a strong ability to provide casework and person-centred support work, to help carers improve their situations. 

  • Be digitally confident. 

  • Show a good understanding of equality and diversity issues and a commitment to support people from marginalised groups.


A good understanding of welfare benefits and the agencies/resources that exist in Edinburgh are highly desirable.


We are especially keen to hear from applicants that can speak Bengali, Urdu or Polish, in addition to English (but this is not essential)
