Full-time, part-time and Casual (Flexible hours) contract available

About the Role

Would you describe yourself as outgoing, chatty, a good listener and a problem solver?

Are you interested in Ted Talks? Do you like to read non-fiction? Are you looking for a job where you can make a difference?

If you said YES to those questions, then we have the job for you!

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain or develop your existing skills in an award winning, community focussed organization. If you can communicate clearly and sensitively with the people we support and their families, and demonstrate an empathy for The Action Group’s values, especially surrounding confidentiality, we would love to hear from you.

A knowledge or awareness of the emotional and practical difficulties faced by autistic people would be advantageous, but most important is your willingness to learn and to be creative in your approach to problem solving.

Salary

  • £21,352 – £22,165 per annum, pro rata and based on 39-hour work week

  • Casual hourly rate: £10.50 per hour

  • (if applicable) Sleepover payment of £84. Sleepovers are not counted as part of your contracted hours, and are paid in addition to your regular salary

Requirements

I am looking for people to join my team of support workers, who fit my support around my studies, hobbies and interests. If you love to chat but get bored of small talk quickly, if you enjoy solving problems, are an excellent communicator, are creative and supportive and feel that you can help me manage changes in my life, as well as offering emotional support while doing errands - then I want to meet you!

My support times are throughout the week, currently Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons. My staff support me to manage tasks such as shopping, attending appointments, collecting medications, and generally supporting me with managing my anxieties and energy levels. This support allows me to focus on my studies at Uni, and is vital to me.

I am looking for someone who can provide me with the support that I need to thrive at Uni, and who shares some of my interests and ideas.
