welfare rights

The Welfare Rights Service can be used by anyone in Edinburgh or Midlothian with a learning disability, or by their carers or professionals who work with them.

The service gives information and advice about social security benefits, helping to make sure that clients get all the benefits to which they are entitled.

Advice is available for both adults and children with a learning disability and will help with benefits for the whole family, not just the disabled person.

The service aims to work to high standards, reflecting The Action Group’s recent achievement of the Charter Mark.This means that you should always expect:

If you think you can use this service, please ring The Action Group on 0131 475 2315 and ask to speak to a Welfare Rights adviser. You can arrange to see an adviser either at their office, where there are private meeting rooms, or, if it is easier for you, they can come to your home.
