This area of support covers Edinburgh and Lothians. The service is usually ‘spot purchased’, on behalf of the young person accessing it, by the Social Work Department, the Education Department or by Parents / Carers accessing the appropriate living fund or Direct Payments provision to initiate the service.  The service currently supports a variety of young people and adults (aged 5 – 25yrs), who have a variety of differing support needs.  Each service user is matched with a small group of paid workers, so that continuity of service is maintained and trust is built upon.

 Confidence building, independent travel, independent living skills, access to sport or education and respite for parents and carers are the main objectives of this service.
