Midlothian
The Action Group now provides the following services in Midlothian:- Family Support and One to One Support provides paid support staff who can assist with skills building, support independence skills and increase social inclusion opportunities. There are different ways to pay for this.
- Siblings service clubs and activities that are fun, friendly and offer a learning environment where brothers and sisters (7-16 years old) are encouraged and enabled to form shared understanding with others in the same situation. Funded by the BBC Children in Need Appeal.
- Real Jobs Midlothian assists with getting a paid job, ongoing support in employment with professional, reliable and courteous staff with expertise in job finding, benefits, training and support. In 2005 we will launch a new service for 15- 17 year olds, to gain experience through work placements. Funded by the Big Lottery, ESF and Midlothian Council.
- Housing Support Services supports people in a variety of living situations eg in their own home, or staying with their family.We provide professional, skilled and reliable workers in a flexible manner. Funded by Supporting People, Social Work, Direct Payments and Independent Living Fund.
- Welfare Rights Advice and Money Advice can offer you a financial assessment to check that you are getting all the money to which you are entitled eg benefits, tax credits.The Money Advice service can assist you in preparing a financial statement so you can see clearly what money have coming in and going out each week; help you to prioritise your debts and help you to arrange reduced repayments to the people to whom you owe money, or advise you of other options. Funded by the Big Lottery, ESF and Scottish Executive.

Thanks to Midlothian Council, our staff have use of an office in the Greenhall Centre, Gorebridge, but we will be happy to visit you at home.
