Children & young people
This service aims to provide a high quality, flexible approach designed to meet the needs of each individual and family, aiming to enhance their quality of life.The type of support currently provided is wide ranging and can include access to play or recreation/leisure activities, educational support in school, college and the local and wider community, and supporting young people to move into their own homes.
Support is currently provided in Edinburgh and Midlothian but we are happy to discuss referrals for outwith these areas.
We provide this support through a variety of services including holiday schemes, a sibling service, family support service, one to one service, adventure camps and a family support group. Due to funding streams each service has its own more specific referral criteria, which we are happy to go through with prospective clients.
What can you expect?
A flexible, approachable and skilled team, who are committed to working with children and young people. Each staff member or volunteer has been carefully selected, disclosure checked and then trained. Each is supervised regularly by The Action Group. We are seeking to provide:
- a positive relationship between parents / families and staff
- staff who believe every child and young person can reach their goals
- staff whose skills match the need of the service user.
