We are looking for employees whose attitudes and values towards people with support needs match ours. Experience is not essential for most positions as full training will be given.

Support Workers: Housing Support Services

Starting salary: £13,397 - £14,403 p.a. pro rata (This salary range is currently under review)
Sleepover rate: £30

Opportunities are available in Edinburgh and the Lothians for full and part-time contracts. Applicants should be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings.

The role involves supporting individuals with support needs to lead fulfilled and independent lives within the community. Typical tasks will include assisting with cooking, housework, personal care, using public transport, pursuing hobbies, and socialising.

This is the perfect opportunity for those seeking to start out, or progress, in a support sector career. No previous experience is necessary but applicants should be caring, capable and committed to supporting vulnerable people.

Support Workers: Children & Young People’s Services

Starting salary: £13,397 - £14,403 p.a. pro rata (This salary range is currently under review)
Sleepover rate: £30

Opportunities are available for part-time contracts doing early morning and evening work, mostly based in individual family homes throughout East Lothian. Locations include Dunbar, North Berwick, Port Seton and Prestonpans. Applicants should be able to work flexible hours and have good knowledge of the local area.

Please note: this service is not recruiting for staff in Edinburgh at present.

The role involves supporting young people with support needs (mostly aged between 10 and early 20s) and their families to develop their independence and live happy, fulfilled lives. Typical tasks will include socialising and playing with young people, as well as possibly assisting with housework and personal care.

No previous experience is necessary but applicants should be able to demonstrate understanding of the needs of young people. They must also be caring, capable and committed to supporting vulnerable individuals.

Casual Support Workers: Housing Support / Children & Young people’s Services

Hourly rate: £7.50
Sleepover rate: £30

Opportunities are available throughout East Lothian, West Lothian and Midlothian. We are not currently recruiting for casual staff in Edinburgh, but this may change in the autumn so speculative applications from people based in the city are welcome.

Casual (relief) positions are best for those who wish to supplement their income on a flexible basis. No hours are guaranteed. Instead, staff will be used to cover for absences and vacancies in teams. Some work can be planned weeks in advance, but shifts may also be arranged last-minute.

The role involves supporting individuals of various ages with support needs to lead fulfilled and independent lives within the community. Typical tasks will include assisting with cooking, housework, personal care, using public transport, pursuing hobbies, and socialising.

No previous experience is necessary but applicants should be caring, capable and committed to supporting vulnerable people.

Office and Management Vacancies

 

Payroll Assistant: Finance Team

30 hours per week (part-time)
£15,603-18,063 pro rata (£12,002 - £12,672 actual, rising eventually to £13,895)

We are looking for a committed, highly numerate and methodical person to work in our payroll department. Previous experience in payroll would be advantage, but is not essential as full training will be given.

This job involves the recording, inputting and processing of all payroll information for this local charity which assists individuals with learning disabilities and other support needs. The post holder will also need to prepare monthly reports and answer payroll queries from staff and outside agencies.

 To apply you must be able to demonstrate the following

  • Ability to type quickly and accurately
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficiency at performing basic calculations (e.g. percentages)
  • Ability to plan ahead and meet strict deadlines
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Appropriateness when handling confidential information
